Apple pie
If you want to try a delicious gluten free apple pie, this is your recipe.
Ingredients
Filling
- 6 peeled unseeded acid apples (Granny Smith).
- 20 ml freshly squeezed lemon.
- 30 grams of sugar.
- 20 grams of gluten free flour.
- A pinch of ground clove.
- A pinch of nutmeg.
- A teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- A pinch of salt
Gluten free shortcrust pastry
- 170 grams of rice flour.
- 120 grams of butter.
- 80 grams of corn flour.
- 30 grams of sugar.
- A pinch of salt.
Preparation of Gluten free shortcrust pastry
- In a bowl, mix the corn flour and rice flour with the sugar and a pinch of salt.
- Diced the butter and add it to the mix. Knead with your hands. Add a little bit of water until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
- Make a ball with the dough and cover it with cling film. Put it to rest in the fridge for an hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and you will have a rich savory gluten-free shortcrust pastry.
Preparation of the filling
- Cut the apples into eighths and then each eighth into 4 pieces. Put them in a bowl and pour in the lemon juice.
Getting ready to bake
- Pour the filling over the dough and spread the butter on top in small pieces. With the rolling pin, spread the reserved dough and cover the apples with it.
- Make some cuts in the surface so that the steam escapes, brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle the sugar.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes (180°C). Remove from oven and let cool.
